Lisa Wagner, CAE

Lisa Wagner, CAE, has been named Chief Financial Officer for the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) headquartered in Washington, DC. GHSA represents the state and territorial highway safety officers that implement federal grant programs to address behavioral highway safety issues. GHSA’s mission is to provide leadership and advocacy for the states and territories to improve traffic safety, to influence public policy, enhance program management and promote best practices.

Ms. Wagner will oversee the day-to-day business and financial operations, IT, HR, budget development, grant administration, forecasting, investment strategy and execution of special projects. Ms. Wagner brings nearly two decades of executive financial experience in the association sector. Previously, Ms. Wager served the Solar Energy Trade Shows as CFO and worked in finance and administration for the American Wind Energy Association.  This is a newly created role, following the retirement of long-time Financial Director, Denise Alston.

“I’m ecstatic to welcome Lisa to the GHSA team,” said GHSA Executive Director Jonathan Adkins. “With traffic fatalities and dangerous driving on the rise, it’s an especially critical time for our mission to make roads safer for everyone using them. Lisa’s exceptional experience, leadership skills and strategic focus will be a tremendous benefit to GHSA and our members as we work together toward zero roadway fatalities.”

Ms. Wagner was selected after an extensive, national search led by Association Strategies, Alexandria, VA.
